Just a reminder we will be having some Japanese snacks this Friday. I'll be bringing in four different things for you guys to try. Hopefully there will be more then enough but I will be making sure that those who donated the money get their share.
I am only bringing the food so napkins, cups, pop or other things that anyone might want to bring would be nice. You can even just bring your own drink since some of the stuff is quite sticky.
If you intend to bring something for everyone let me know, I will be contacting Colleen to see if she can pick up some napkins atleast.
Thanks again guys.

( Happy Valentines DayCollapse )
And for those of you who missed last weeks meeting, we're planning on doing the Japanese food thing in the near future. So please bringa dollar or more for getting the ingredients. I'll be collecting the money, buying the goods and with luck we'll be able to have a nice little food party next week.
Also, there will be a trip to Main Moon for lunch after the meeting this friday, so bring about six bucks or more to cover yourself.
Have a great day and stay warm!

I literally walked into my apartment today and said "OKONOMIYAKI! That's it!"
As requested, here is the recipe, copied from my notebook. Note that the recipe wasn't made by me, which you can tell by the lack of anal retentive measurements, so the directions aren't exactly lab precise. That shouldn't be an issue though.
* 1 cup all purpose flour
* 3/4 cup dashi soup or water
* 4 eggs
* 2 cups chopped cabbage
* 4 thinly sliced pork
* 4 servings yakisoba noodles
*okonomiyaki sauce or worcester sauce to season
* Mayonnaise, bonito flakes, ao-nori powder are also things that you can season it with in addition to the sauce. Any spices you like also work.
*Heat a pan or flat iron.
*Mix the flour and water or dashi to make the batter.
*Spread a thin pancake of batter on the pan or flat iron.
*Spread a small handful of the finely chopped cabbage on the batter.
*Place a pork slice on the cabbage and then pour some of the batter over the ingredients.
*On the side, fry the yakisoba and season with the okonomiyaki/worcestor sauce.
*Flip over the pancake and press on the pancake with the spatula, which is over a low heat until the ingredients are cooked.
*Cover the yakisoba noodles with the pancake and press down on it firmly to push the noodles in.
*Fry an egg and put the pancake on top of it, again pressing down.
*Flip the pancake back over.
*Repeat until you are out of ingredients, you should be able to make several.
*When serving, add the sauce and whatever spices you want.

Hope you had a good break and good start of school. Sorry it took so long but we had to rebook our rooms and you all know how hectic the first week of classes can be.
We will be having meetings every Friday at four just like last semester starting next week (Feb. 2)
If you have any questions just leave a note or bug me in my own LJ.

Happy Holidays everyone!
I hope you guys have fun at home with the family. If anyone is up in Edinboro after the twenty seventh let me know, I'm going to try and set up a movie night at my house.
And a little update, Gold Star did open up in Edinboro and they have a lot more stuff. Go support them and check the place out, the prices are semi-reasonable depending on what your after. It's right across from PNC Bank and beside that tattoo parlor Game Over, thus beside Johns Pizza.

Since it seems that no one knows when or where this shindig is taking place, I decided to slap a post up here.
It's going to be in the basement of Earp (we'll probably have up signs pointing the way) at seven until ten I believe. This Friday.
No meeting so remember not to show up for it, make sure to spread the word to everyone who doesn't know. We'll hopefully be sending out e-mails by tonight. If you need anything feel free to either reply to this, call me, e-mail me or any of the other officers.
Hope to see you there. Dress up, bring some food foryourself and/or others.

Okay, for all of you who didn't get the e-mail or aren't able to get it. Whatever. We'll be having our first meeting of the semester on Friday, Sept. 7 at 4 o'clock in the usual place at the UC.
Basically we are going to get together, hand out flyers and try to rake in some more members. Hope to see you there, please reply to this if you'll be there, that way we know who to expect.

Just a reminder to everyone who is in the community:
The Fall semester is just around the corner and I still would like to hear any suggestions for additions to the ESCA Library.
Just post them to the community and I'll go over them with the officers to see what we can do.
As soon as the officers decide the meeting nights for this semester I'll try to get a survey up for you guys to choose our next Operation Anime title. The address for the list of available titles is: http://www.operationanime.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=main.calendar
If any of these titles sound good let me know ahead of time to help better tailor the survey to what the club is interested in.

so i think i managed to get rid of our spammer and the messages it left. that's right. it. spammers aren't people, they're canned imitation ham.
so i hope everyone's summer is going well. it's effin' hot up here in good ol' edinboro.
